A Note from SAA Founder Andrew Pari

Hello All,

Welcome to the website for Sexual Assault Awareness. You may have met me at a conference, read my work on Reddit, or be visiting this site for personal reasons. However you got here, thank you for being here and I hope you find something important and unique to take away. I have provided trauma response and treatment of many kinds over the years, largely focusing on healing from the pain of sexual abuse and assault. I provide consultation and training on aspects of sexual violence that most in the field of mental health and legal investigation understand little about.

If you have questions, please contact us through the Contact Us page here on our website.

I believe you.

Andrew Pari, Founder, LCSW

Advocacy Opportunity

SAA is proud to be a founding member of the new Antelope Valley Start By Believing chapter. The message is simple: when anyone tells you they have been sexually assaulted, begin by listening to them and believing. Join us as we grow this message and campaign in the Antelope Valley and beyond.

Areas of Practice

Sexual Assault Training

From the 101 on Consent and Understanding Sexualized Violence to Advanced Trainings in trauma recovery, CSEC, and taboo aspects of sexualized responses to assault/abuse, we provide trauma-informed training rooted in psycho-therapeutic principles & neuroscience to agencies and professionals nationally and internationally. Check out our list of available trainings by clicking the link above.

Awareness Blog and publicATIONS

We are committed to providing science-based and accurate information on the topic of sexualized violence and the work being done to prevent further trauma. We are currently engaged with a San Diego university on the first research of its kind exploring the physiological arousal response to sexual assault. Find out why Andrew Pari is called the nation's leading authority on the neuro-biological arousal mechanism in sexualized violence. To learn more about the work of SAA, visit our blog and check out our publications. You can also find us on Research Gate.

Therapeutic Services

Andrew Pari, LCSW, is a licensed psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience treating sexualized violence and trauma. He's pioneered clinical work in addressing challenging and taboo aspects of the victim experience, including those experiencing arousal/orgasm during their assault. He also specializes in women involved in the sex industry (AKA sex workers), and victims of human trafficking. If you are interested in seeing Andrew, please fill out the contact form on our website and you will be responded to within 24-hours.

Resources

One of the most important issues for survivors of sexualized violence is access to resources. We provide a comprehensive list of providers, hotline, and other resources to help support the survivor community and spread awareness.

Expert Testimony

Andrew has consulted and provided expert testimony throughout his career and is available to consult on your case and discuss how his expert testimony on a variety of topics related to sexualized violence may assist the prosecution. Please contact us for more information.

Advocacy

Raising awareness/consciousness about sexual assault and the shaming stigma that many survivors face is one of the key components of practice for SAA. We participate in advocacy through our blog, political activities, marches, and participating in online conversations throughout social media, including moderating for Reddit's RapeCounseling forum.

We must send a message across the world that there is no disgrace in being a survivor of sexual violence- the shame is on the agressor.
